KFIX Rock News: Rush Fans Upset With Original Drummer Rock Hall Snub

rushrutinSome fans are protesting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s snub of John Rutsey, original drummer for Rush.

A posting on the Rush is a Band Facebook page reads, “There had been some question among fans as to whether founding Rush drummer John Rutsey (who passed away 5 years ago) would be inducted and – according to Rush’s page on the Rock Hall website - he will not be included,”

After the recording of the band’s first album, Rutsey left Rush in 1974–due to musical differences and health problems with diabetes–and was replaced by Neil Peart.

Rutsey passed away in 2008.  He was 55.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held Thursday (4/18).
