HHS Baseball Splits With Dodge City

HHS-BSBThe Hays High baseball team split their home opening doubleheader with Dodge City Tuesday at Larks Park.  The Indians win the opener 3-1 then are shutout in game two 3-0. They are now 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the Western Athletic Conference. The Indians play at Kapaun Mt. Carmel Friday.

Game 1: Hays 3, Dodge City 1
Hayden Hutchison holds the Red Demons to one unearned run on two hits in the complete game victory. Hutchison also hit a two-run double in the third to give the Indians all the runs they would need. Hutchison scored Hays third run on a wild pitch.

Game 2: Dodge City 3, Hays 0
The Indians were held to one hit, a Chandler Rule single in the fourth. Cade Parker takes the loss, allowing three runs on five hits over four innings.
