Principal Resigns

dewittTMP-Marian Principal Bill DeWitt announced his resignation Tuesday morning. He is returning to Lawrence. He told Hays Post, “I will finish my contract that ends this summer and I will take a similar job with Lawrence High School. I want to make sure things are in place for next year at TMP before we move. My wife and I are KU graduates, our children were born in Lawrence. It was beautiful to come back to Hays and to do what we’ve done.”

DeWitt, 39, graduated from the University of Kansas with degrees in Philosophy, Psychology, and Secondary Education. He began his teaching career in the town of Tonganoxie, Kansas.

In the spring of 2009, he completed a Masters in Education Administration at the University of Kansas.

“I was not looking for an opportunity but I can’t pass up an opportunity to return to Lawrence.”

A search committee will be formed and overseen by the TMP-Marian Board of Trustees to find a successor for DeWitt.

Stay tuned to Eagle Radio and check Hays Post for details as they become available.

Thanks for 4 Great Years! You will be missed. Lawrence High School is getting a gem.

Great choice, the drug and party scene is way better in Lawrence.

I don’t know how to take this comment are you insinuating that this is why he is going there, or are you just making a statement? If it is the first I will be the first to say that you are very immature and ignorant in your statement. If you are saying this just as a statement, I stand corrected. From my knowledge of Mr. Dewitt he is a very well liked man that speaks the truth, and even though some people do not like that part of him I find this a very good quality.

Bill speaks the truth and so does Dan. His statement is anything but ignorant. Lawrence has a better part scene. Bill would agree.

Thanks Bill. Very easy to work with and a genuinely nice person. Best wishes in Lawrence.

I have only heard good comments from parents and students of TMP!
