KFIX Rock News: Lawsuit By Boston’s Tom Scholz Dismissed

bostalbumBOSTON (AP) – A Massachusetts judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Tom Scholz of Boston against the Boston Herald for implying he was responsible for singer Brad Delp’s suicide in 2007.

Scholz sued the paper and writers Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa of the Inside Track gossip column.

The judge says the column was constitutionally protected opinion.

A lawyer for the Herald says it’s a victory for the paper, the public and the First Amendment.

Scholz’s lawyer says his client “respectfully disagrees” and is considering an appeal.
