KFIX Rock News: Las Vegas Celebrates Def Leppard Day

Def Leppard VegasCarolyn G. Goodman, mayor of Las Vegas, declared last Friday as “Def Leppard Day” in the city.

The day coincided with the band’s residency, which launched that evening at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Each show, “VIVA! Hysteria & More” features two sets from the band, with the second set featuring their album “Hysteria,” from start to finish.

Leppard is scheduled to perform 11 shows at “The Joint” between March 22 and April 13.

Guitarist Phil Collen has stated the band will be recording the Vegas concerts for a live album release.

Last week, the band released a newly recorded version of the song “Hysteria”, the latest song re-recorded by the band after they were unable to come to an agreement with their former record label over digital rights fees.
