Three Car Accident Injures Three In Ellsworth

A three vehicle accident at the junction of K-140 and K-156 in Ellsworth sent three women to the hospital.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Skyla Steenson of Wichita was stopped at  a stop sign in the westbound lane on K-140 when she pulled out in front of 76-year-old Earlene Heimiller of Abilene. Heimiller, who was traveling north on K-156, struck Steenson, causing Heimiller’s vehicle to roll over and strike a third vehicle which was traveling southbound on K-156, driven by 20-year-old Kassie Grothusen of Ellsworth.

A passenger of Steenson’s was not injured, but Steenson and Heimiller were transported to Ellsworth County Medical Center with injuries.

Grothusen drove her own vehicle to the hospital for further evaulation.

Their conditions were not released.
